Glowfoto will now do it's best to recommend other photos that you might like. You should see the Related box above photos on the view image page, or directly to the right of a photo on the user view page.
We'll be tweaking the system over time, so we'd really like to hear from you as to whether or not the recommendations the system is making are good, ok, so-so or downright terrible. Basically, unlike other recommendation systems, we're not trying to recommend photos that are necessarily very similar content-wise. We're trying to make guesses as to whether or not you would want to view the image or not.
It's kind of hard to explain. But basically, if you are viewing a photo of a flower, we don't want to just say "hey, here are some other flowers!" We'd ideally like the system to offer you a bunch of other photos which may have nothing to do with flowers, but which -- surprisingly -- are very interesting to you.
So please let us know what you think!

Notice the new photo comment system?
We're trying to make things more social around here. One of the first ideas we had was to move away from the standard, boring linear comment system that every other site has (and which we had, until a couple hours ago), and start doing comments a little more conversationally.
Now, when people leave comments on photos, other people can directly reply to those comments, and then people can reply back, and so on. Commenting on photos is more like having a conversation about photos now.

Hey, I just wanted to let everyone know that we love you guys, we love seeing your photos popping up around here, and we're really glad you are members of Glowfoto.
Yep, that's it. No exiting news, no crazy announcements. I just wanted to let you all know that we appreciate you being part of our community here.
And of course, let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. We've implemented pretty much everything on our list so far, so we're looking for something to do. Help us out with that if there's something you want to see at Glowfoto...

Two new updates to start off the week:
* You can now browse users. If you want to show up on the browse page, you need to upload a profile pic.
* You can now post thumbnails OR full-size images on other sites.
They aren't actually full-size, they are the 500 width images that show up on your view image page. But any bigger would break forum tables.

You can now view your geotagged photos in Google Earth.
We're still working out the details, and the interface is in development, but for the time being you can load up your photos in Google earth and show them off that way.

Do you have a website you want to advertise ultra-cheap?
While we're testing out our in-house advertising, you can buy space at the top of Glowfoto for $25 a month. It's not going to be that cheap (not even close) once we get rolling, so if you want to get your link in front of a lot of eyes, now would be a great time to take advantage of this.

| Geotag those photos! |

Just a little nudge to get you guys to geotag your photos. You can access the geotagger from the organizer. We made a small improvement to the geotagger to make the map render properly in Internet Explorer, so if you had a problem with it earlier, that's fixed now.
Remember also that everyone has a map now, accessible by clicking the earth icon on your profile, or by clicking the orange map link under a photo that has been geotagged.
Take a look at my map, or the global map, to see what it will look like.
